The owner and managing director of Le Louvre, Georgina Weir, is a pioneer of the Australian fashion industry. Credited with introducing luxury ready-to-wear fashion to Australia in the 1960’s and 70’s she remains at the helm of the progressive and iconic boutique that is Le Louvre. Founded in 1923 by her mother Lillian Wightman, Le Louvre first opened it’s doors in a small arcade called Howie Place where made to measure was what took place with yards of beautiful French chiffon rolled out to create whispy diaphanous glamorous creations. A significant part of Le Louvre’s 100 year old history is the idea that fashion, art and design are one and that together they create a unique and wonderful experience.
